Ok, it's here - as a work in progress - this is just as far as I've gotten so far.  I've scoured the net and I'm sure there is some old/erroneous information here.  I'm far from being an expert on them but I have more to add.  The goal here is the same as the C500 list - document the cars, not the owners - as an open document.

Link to spreadsheet:
1969 Daytona Registry

If you have pics such as an overall shot, VIN and fender tags, engine, interior, trunk, and possibly 'back in the day' type pics I'd love to link them in the registry.  Send to:

1969chargerdaytonaregistry@gmail.com

(Please include a VIN in the email about the car you are referencing, TY!)

Right now the Google Sheet is open to commenting.  Right click on a cell and add a comment.  Sort any column by right clicking at the top of it.

I'm open to adding moderators who know Daytonas and would like to help with this project, send me a PM.

The Rules:

1.  Do not share owner information - no names, phone numbers, or addresses more specific than a state.  This includes previous owners.  This is about documenting Charger 500's, not the owner.

2.  Information posted should be of the publicly available sort.  It should be info acquired by internet searches, viewing at car shows, car ads, forum postings by owners, etc.  If in doubt get the owner's permission before posting.

3.  Only change information you know to be incorrect.  Only add info you know to be correct.  No hearsay or 'I guy I know told me...' stuff, try to have photo resources, research, or first-hand knowledge of what is being posted.  Post photo links and source links if you can.

Thanks!  Just getting started...

I tried logging onto the spread sheet yesterday to update some info on my old car and I could not edit any of the blocks.

Homerr

Chris, it's open to comment only now.  Right click on a cell and 'Insert comment'.  I see these pop up on my end and 'resolve' them to add the info you input as a comment.

Great job on the list Homerr!!  I see that it shows only one car having been sold new in Mississippi (Car 356129).  If this is the car I believe it is, the owner lives about 5 miles from me.  I'll have to check with him to see if it is indeed his car.  Years ago he told me that the car was sold new here in Jackson, which is why he wanted to "bring it back home" from the previous owner in Louisiana.  I'll let you know what I find out.

Terrific, thanks! If anybody out there has any photos of my Q5 turquoise Daytona, I would be very appreciative if you would share them with me! Especially if anybody has any "old" photos of the car, from the 70s or something.

Should note that his car is 400570.   ;)

Edit:  added more pics of it in registry.

I have seen all of those threads/pictures, but thank you! Believe me, I have searched the forum for all of the q5/turquoise Daytona threads. I was hoping somebody out there had some photos of it back before the restoration, such as when it was painted plum crazy, or supposedly painted white with a brush.

Again, thank you. When I first posted that I bought this car, Ed chimed in, and offered to dig up the photos that he had of the car, and then he never did. Then I messaged him a few times, politely asking him again, and he never responds.  :brickwall:

So, I've tried!

I think your entry of 408029 may be a typo, and should be 409029 ( you show this one at the end ). 409029 is T5, T5, C6T sold from Utica.
I have the sheet for 409030 and it too was T5, T5, C6T.
Maybe someone can confirm.

nascarxx29, can you confirm from original list?

FJMG

I read that info from the WW copy of the ship list published in the newsletter? That version of the list shows no 408029 VIN and the rest of the info you show on that car shows up on that list corresponding to 409029.
I noticed a few of the destinations and dates missing, I take it your copy of the list was rather illegible? The copy I have in the newsletter is not too bad so rather than post here multiple times I can send you a PM with what my copy states in the "blanks".

pettybird

line 158 381547 is a 440 auto car, F5 on white

line 470 414641 is an auto car, F8 on black

99% sure 163 381551 is a 440 auto, Q5 on black.  Danny can chide me but I don't have my friends' VINs memorized...

I would love to know if this can be confirmed, because I've never seen or heard of another Q5 car with black interior (although it would make sense that there is one or two out there). I've seen pictures of the one with the white interior, and heard of one with tan interior.
