Actually 72-71 is the same as 70 Charger (didn't check but prolly same as 68-9 but don't quote me on that)
1857856 - 857 (R/L respectively)

1973 thru 1977 is:
3722690 - 691 (R/L respectively)

All upper, and lower, control arms from the 1962-1972 B body line of cars, are all the same thing.
73, on up are a whole different suspension design.

Except LCAs with sway bar provision.... two diff pieces between 62/69 and 70/72

Nope, not entirelly true.
A LCA. from 1962-1972 doesn't care which car that it came off of.
If a sway bar mount tab is welded onto the arm, near the ball joint stud hole, then it's used on a 66-69 B body, or if the tab is welded onto the arm, more or less in the center, it's for a 70-72 car.
But either way, a LCA fits anything from 62-72.

It is a different part number if it has a sway bar tab compared to a NON sway bar LCA. The man was right the first time.

Yes it physically fits, but if you try to install a 68 LCA with Sway bar provision on a 72 car with sway bar, you won't be able to attach the sway bar, so it cares

If any of both cars got sway bar, won't be a problem. Or even if the receiver of the LCA doesn't have sway bar, you can install any 62/72 LCA with or without sway bar tab provision

Or if you get a pre 69 sway bar setup as donor and you'll match the LCA with it on a 70/72

Between 1972 and 73 the B-body chassis TOTALLY changed.  The K-frames were solid mounted to the framerails on the 1972-earlier cars.  They went to K-frames isolated on rubber donuts for 1973-up.

A bunch of other related changes were made at the same time.  Incorporating the shock tower & UCA structure into the K-frame instead of the body framerails.  The spindle changed a bit.  And the LCA.  The K-frames started to be different between smallblock versus big block V8s.  The torsion bar mounts were moved off the trans crossmember to a separate bolted-on item.  They started rubber-isolating the leaf springs from the axlehousing.  Etc.

I need an upper control arm and ball joint for a 69 charger and wondering where to purchase? I've looked around and theyre not available from Year one, jegs or summit. I saw some on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/251944388506?lpid=82&chn=ps&ul_noapp=true but am leary about them and also some used ones on this site but not sure if I should be getting them used.

I hope it's OK that I asked in this thread instead of starting a new one...?

Suggestions? Thanks!

Did you try NAPA? That is where I got my stuff for the 73. You'd be surprised how much they have sometimes.
Upper Control Arm 1857856 (R) 857(L). I don't see those listed but I do see the replacement bushings - 2071204 - they are NCP 2671192 and $10.49 each. So unless they are bent beyond repair, you can rebuild them I would think.
Upper Ball Joint 2298534 (same as C body and you'll need 2) crosses to PCC 10162 and they are $11.99 ea.

Thanks and sorry for the hijack! I found em on Mancini racing and Classic Industries, ordered from Mancini.

Just looked, ONLY up to 1972. Nothing for B body after that.

since these are fully adjustable wouldn't they work on '73-4? http://scandc.com/new/node/737  Looking at them for my '72 price is right for a pair.

Not sure if they will work but better price here and Peter specializes in Mopars.... Maybe send him an email, he would know if they will work or not.

I was wrong. Firm Feel offers them. The geometry is altered from '72 and older.

The way how they attach to the body/K member is way different. 73/74s got a shaft linking both bushings and the shaft is the piece actually moved to alight over a plate with elongated holes... aside the geometry differences.
