I recently ordered a new Challenger GT AWD. I drove one that the dealer had. I really liked it. Any GTs that are out there on dealers lots are pretty heavily optioned and are priced from $37 k on up. Most of the options are electronic features which I don't need or want.
I ordered a Torred exterior with black and ruby leather interior. the only options I ordered are a sunroof and a spare tire. The car has a ton of features that are standard . I am excited to get the car.
To those who have ordered a Challenger, how long did it take for you to receive your car?

Wife has been waiting for months for it to come out... we have none on dealer lots up here. Maybe it's time to see if we can order one. Sad when they're made in Canada... 90 miles from our door.  :brickwall:

In January 12th 2015 we ordered our R/T. It arrived The first week of March. Just about 8 weeks even though they expected it to be between 11 and 12 weeks. SCORE !

Sorry no plum crazy for the GT.
I was able to go into the Dodge sight and go to Build and Price. On the left side you can select the model. Look close there is an option to pick Challenger GT.

I guess I am lucky. The dealer told me 6-8 weeks. I ordered the car one week ago ( 1/30/17). Today the dealer called and said he was notified today that they have a shipping date (2/15/17) for my car EVEN though it has not been built or scheduled to be built yet!

Just talked to a dealer up here. NOPE.. can't build one.. can't order one.. none on dealer lots and they're all at the mercy of Chrysler Canada despite how stupid a move this is. The car is built in Brampton, Ontario in CANADA FFSakes.  :brickwall: You'd think they'd do better on sales numbers introducing them to the snow belt first... dumb shits... Winter will be over here before they are released, up here WHERE THEY'RE BUILT!   :shruggy:

Not sure the wife's gonna wait much longer... might get stuck with a Fusion AWD or Mazda X9 in the garage...  :brickwall:

Keep all your documents, sounds like you may have a "one of one" car on your hands, and in 50 years folks will want the window sticker, order sheet, etc..., lol.

birdsandbees

Yep.. with about as much HP as our old Magnum / HP V8's and more gears to use that power and keep things in the torque range... in a lighter car than our old B Bodies.

That and they couldn't keep transfer cases in the V8 Charger AWDs.. so they're both only available with V6's now for the AWD models.

Lighter? I REALLY doubt that.
The AWD system negates any weight advantage the V6 might have over the 5.7. Our 2015 R/T is 4180 and isn't even a loaded down model. The Hellcat weighs close to 4400.
The 68-70 Charger usually always came in under 3900. Mine weighed 3850 before frame connectors, torque boxes and sound deadening was added.

I agree that is really dumb! I would think if you are selling a car that you are advertising as great in snow. Why would you not introduce it in November (and in Canada) in order to sell as many as possible? Sometimes I wonder who makes these decisions.

It might be, but I bought it to drive. I will keep all the paperwork, but I doubt many of the current new cars will be sought after in the future.

Hmmm, V6 auto?   :eek2:
V6 auto, I know. I wish it was available as a stick and a V8.
Anyway, I was impressed when I test drove it. It is 305 Horsepower with an 8 speed automatic. The performance numbers I read were 0-60 in 6.2 secs. and the 1/4 mile in 14.2secs. Not too bad.

I just looked up the weight of the 2017 Challenger GT. It is 4108#. It is probably 300# or so more than our Chargers.

Thanks for the weight correction KD.

The car will still have enough Pep for what the wife needs as a daily driver to get through the snow. It sure won't go like her slamming the gears in her 350LT1 powered x 4 gear x 4.56 rear end '64 Vette... and that's probably a good thing or I'll always have her new car and be leaving her my truck!

Just talked with our local Dodge guy again today... he thinks he can now order her one!!  :2thumbs: Still bummed out there's no Purple. We'll have to build the car she wants on the USA Dodge website and then bring him all the information as the Canadian site still won't let you build a car..  :brickwall:

DANG.. what I was told a few minutes ago by the dealer as well. That sucks.. Purple was our daughters favourite colour and why the wife wanted it, but she also likes slime green so that may be it. Now to "build" her a car on the USA Dodge site and then tell the dealer what she wants to get an order in! Hope they take Canadian Tire money..  :yesnod: as the 'Bee has done a good cleaning our our accounts..  :-\
