well the wire coming from my ignition switch to the firewall to the voltage regulater is fried.  A couple other wires close to the bulkhead are bare in spots as well.  Every other harness in my car is new.  contiplating buying a new dash harness.  Are these darn things hard to change?

no - pretty much just a plug in deal - getting to it isnt too difficult either if you remove the dash ---  the most hurtful part is the price....   just put one in a 1969 Super Bee at work from Year One - took about an hour

I swapped mine out and and the dash was still in the car, not that hard. I suggest getting a shop manual and using the wire diagram that is in it. Also the manual has LOADS of other helpfull information.
