Yep Scotty died today.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/eo/16979

"Born March 3, 1920, in Vancouver, Doohan came about Scotty's fiery personality and doggedness the old-fashioned way: The battlefield. Fighting with the Royal Canadian Artillery during World War II, the future Starfleet officer landed on the beaches of Normandy, France, as part of the U.S.-led D-Day invasion. He lost a finger; the Allies won the war"

All good things come to an end... I remember growing up and watching StarTrek every day. When things like this happen it reminds me how long ago it was that I was a kid.

Rest In Peace Scotty...

I just heard that his ashes are going to be launched into outer space by his request. Very fitting.

from yahoo news

"Per Doohan's request, said longtime agent Steve Stevens Sr., the sci-fi star will be cremated and his ashes launched into space by the same Houston-based aerospace company that shot the remains of Gene Roddenberry into orbit following the Star Trek creator's 1991 death."

Well, that's a better idea than burying him face down so people can use his butt cheeks as a bike stand. ;D

RIP, Scotty.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

James Doohan seemed like a very cool guy. I loved his role as Scotty and I hate to see him go.

Drache

I think the very LAST episode for Star Trek he ever did was guest star in an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation. The one where they find him in that teleporter loop and he became depressed because he so badly wanted to help but everything he knew about starships was outdated.

Yup.  I liked that one.

"Beam me up Scotty" is still heard from time to time today, even after all these years. He was one of my favorite characters in Star Trek. It was sad to hear.

Rest In Peace. He was beamed up to a better place!

Wanna know something kinda funny? Never in ANY episode will you find someone saying that line. Just like in the original Sherlock Holmes stories never once was it written "It's elementary my dear watson". Weird how these sayings are so famous.
