   What is a good lightweight connecting rod for the LA series motor? It's for the Magnum 340 project Im hoping to get off the ground. Are the magnum rods better than the LA rods? Would they fit the motor without obscene amounts of machining? Custom pistons?

The 340's used a good heavy duty rod.  Don't know about Magnum rod.

It's not a midlife crisis, it's my second adolescence.

Here is a parts list I used in my Small block 402 Stroker build.
All Forged Parts, can be done cheaper I am sure.
1973 Dodge Charger 402 Stroker Smallblock 414 HP/ 466 ft/lbs torque,  8 3/4" 3.91 Suregrip rear w/ DR. Diff disk brake conversion, CalTracs single leaf and Rear Suspension, VFN Bulge Hood, Running, needs interior completed, Had to give to Ex-Wife in divorce 2017...
