Can someone here tell me what the correct factory colours are for the Bendix Power Brake Booster & Master Cylinder?

I have seen a lot of them black / black but I am not sure if that is correct.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

All that I have seen (factory disc brake cars) were all black (master & booster as an assy)
Eastwood makes a nice under hood black that would look good

I have also seen the master cylinders on later 69 cars be natural cast iron with a gold cad cover.

Disc brakes the entire booster and master cyl were black.

Drum brake cars the booster was left yellow zink dichromate with a natural master cylinder body is also unpainted

Thanks for all this folks.

I will be taking the master & the booster to see about rebuilding next week.  I will then post some pics when it is all complete.

Got the booster and master cylinder back.  A pic of the finished product for you.  It looks good to me, but the true test will be when I try to stop for the first time - which might be sometime next summer.   :P

Looking good   these boosters are impossible to find anymore, I was lucky enough to find one with no
core charge from Napa, he has not been able to find another one since. I have tried Olympic brake evan, no luck
at all. Yours has right hand master outlets, I thought all of the stock units 68-70 were left side? but I do see right
side from time to time.

I still need tp paint mine but I just have 4 wheel drum so far.

Can't really take much credit for the resto on these two parts.  That belongs to:

http://www.johnstuartpowerbrake.com/johnstuart/default.asp

These folks are about 20 mins from me and, as mentioned, looks like they did a good job.  They have been around for some time and they seem to be very helpful.  I am sure if I have any issues, they will help me out.

And yes, these boosters are hard to find.  I contacted Booster Dewey and he wanted to charge me $200.00 USD just for the core and another $125.00 USD for the rebuild.  He wouldn't sell me a core, and I can understand that.

When I did find one, I of course bought it (I have been looking for almost a year) and while I was waiting for that deal to come together, I stumbled across another and bought it as well.  This is one of those items that is always nice to have a spare around.

And yes Dan, my ports are on the engine side as I was refering to the attached chart while hunting for my master cylinder, which was a 6 month hunt.  I found it lying underneath a '69 in a salvage yard in Fresno, CA.

BTW - Should I be painting the check valve and if so, what colour?

Do you have the scissor pivot for the brake pedal still in the car? That is what took me a while to find after mine was converted to manual brakes years ago. I found one in a '70 Charger and always keep an eye out for them. Maybe they will work from newer year cars but, I don't know.

Not sure what part you are refering to.  Can you post a pic of one please.

Your car was power but converted to manual.  Was it originally a manual car?

He might be talking about this bracket, this is my MPB System. I was thinking of doing my check valve
in white, the aftermarket units are black, and most of the old original I sell are a yellowed color, so
they might have been more of a white color to start with.

There is a pivot when using a power booster because the booster sits higher up than a standard master cylinder does or I should say at least my style booster sits higher. The booster in my car is different than Dan's picture but, I think the pivot is the same.

My car had power drum brakes originally but, the previous owner removed the booster when he had a built 440 with a 509 cam in the car and had low vacuum issues. Therefore, I had to find the pivot because a manual brake car just has a straight rod that engages the master cylinder.

Well I found a better picture of what I am pretty sure 694spdRT is trying to say, I have one as well.
