Hey guy's , I have a question for Y'all, was there ever a Raced NASCAR, USAC ECT [ race car] or prototype Daytona that had 1968 Taillights ?
Thanks Charlie

Highly doubtful because it wouldn’t be a 1969 Daytona then, so would not pass inspection.
However they did rebody race cars so surely some that were 1968 chargers became 1969’s.

So what you are really asking will your car look funny with a pointy nose and round tail lights ?   :icon_smile_big:

Are you going to fix the big hole in the hood ?
Think it will look OK :2thumbs:

LOL, some truth there :) ,,,, I will get a 1970 hood, it will have to have a big hole in it just not as much missing as it is now LOL, lately I have been running the short stacks on the Hilborn for street driving its AMAIZING I can see MUCH better HAHA, I might be able to make a power bulge hood like Steve is doing on his current Hell Cat Daytona build.

I like the stacks through the hood idea, it looks great!  Not many cars have that, but most have scoops.

Thanks, I figured out running my short stacks with filters makes it WAY easier to see & drive, it is a street car.

Awesome car!
Are you sure about a '70 hood.
Those are some rare finds.

And the latch assembly in front of the radiator support is different too,  for the 70 as I recall...

On the first question. We all know that some of the race Daytonas started life out as 66 or 67 GTX's or Belvideres so there is no doubt in my mind that some of the independents still had the 68 tail lights hiding under the blank out panel on their tail light panels . A piece of aluminum was pop riveted along the entire width of the back panel. You could not see the outline of the tail lights.

The first 69 Charger 500 built had 68 side marker lights, but it had the 69 tailpanel and taillights.

I think Stinger has Daytona fenders in fiberglass. I remember seeing them on display at Carlisle.

Would a Six Pack scoop cover your rig? My 70 had one when I bought it to cover the TM 7 and big Holley.
