I don't think a single matchup answers any questions...different day, different track, different drivers the roles might be reversed.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

true as much as a hate to admit we all want to see a 69 hemi charger show the chebby the fastest way home
we all know LS6 Chevelle is a serious  bit of hardware too  :yesnod:

if there was no such thing as Mopar, i would have a 70 LS6 Chevelle with a M22 sitting in the garage now , & prolly a 70 bullnose firebird 455HO too  :yesnod:

a 69 ZL-1 Corvette or Camaro would be my first Chevy Choice. LEON.

GM stinks! I broke everything except a 64 Nova wagon. (14 of them!)

If you were in Reno for the Hot August Nights festival, you would have seen a LOT of them. It felt like the Chevelle Nationals there today. I counted something like 15-20 at one casino parking lot alone.

Since were talking Chevys....   Next to my bird is a 62 Chevy Impala conv. SS 409 car.   Just like the song of the same name, 4 speed, dual quad, posi-traction. There are others back there too.  They all get along just fine!!!!

Kern Dog

I was a Chevy guy for years but around the mid 90s, I swung back toward Mopars.
I like car shows but even at Mopar shows, seeing row after row of Challengers, Barracudas, Road Runners, Darts and Chargers starts to wear a bit on me.
The shows that have ALL makes and models do have variety but along with that, you get a 10 to 1 ratio of Chevy to everything else.
I don't want to see too much of any one make.
I like Chevelles but to see 20 of them and only one Charger? No thanks.

I have a version of both of these cars tucked away from back in the day. My 70 Chevelle SS is the classic red black combo but alas its the L34 350 hp 396 version not the LS6. The 69 Hemi Charger is a real Hemi car though. So I am kind of on both sides of the fence here. Both were top of the heap back then and I think also either could win on any given day. Would depend on which was tuned the best as little improvements to either of these engines could make all the difference.

I thought it was rather pleasing to see the Charger pulling away so adroitly from this much-heralded top-of-the-line Chevy offering.  If you guys say that his could have gone either way...allright, but it certainly didn't this time.

John_Kunkel

In my early years I spent a lot of time on drag strips. The winner of a matchup between two competing cars of equal power/weight ratio depends on many factors. Even two identical cars can perform very differently with a simple gear change or different tire.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.
