Ever Wondered What Paperwork The Dealer Kept On Your Muscle Car?

Well here is your chance to see what paperwork the dealer had when you ordered your muscle car in 1970. This is a video of a folder from a closed down Chrysler Plymouth dealer called Duarte and Witting in Martinez, California. I have traveled all over the country trying to find this stuff and it just fascinates me. How dealers ordered cars, what percentage were performance cars, mistakes made along the way, etc etc. If anybody knows of any dealers that have been around forever ask them if they have any of this stuff. Can't tell you how many times we have gotten to a dealer and just been told "just threw it all away". Chrysler only has records pre-1967 so this stuff is the only record of most of these cars. Hope you all enjoy the video!

great stuff  :coolgleamA:   ! i find all this kind of thing interesting too , shame chrysler did not have the same records  like  the ford mob can access with  marti report etc, or they had all the ordered car records but the story i got was all 1968 to 1971? maybe 72 was all lost in a fire at chrysler HQ   :scratchchin:
in anycase  bet there was some rare optioned mopars sold back in the day but with the dealer ships closing even in the late 70 ,sadly they all have been lost to time ! :icon_smile_blackeye:

Chrysler thew there Records out in the late 70's or early 80's while they were in Highland Park. at least that was what there were telling everybody back then around early 80's. BUT, As the years went one & everybody started bitching at them for being stupid to throw it all away, they suddenly changed there story & said it was lost in a Fire. at least that's the way I remember it. as of right now I probabbly live only 4 miles from Highland Park. Leon.
