tag sure got pretty rusty for the low mileage & good condition of the rest.  :scratchchin:  LEON.

Super nice car.   If they had hammered it sold, it would have been a money loser this time around.

I owned 162374 for awhile and know the history from the dealer who received it new off the transporter up to when I owned it. That light rust patina on the fender tag is legitimate. Just like the same light rust on rearward facing underhood support bracing, and portions of the underbody where painting in a production environment by human is difficult to reach and apply good coverage. Some Chrysler Assembly Plant historians will point out that fender tags were hung inside doors, or from the underside of the roof prior to painting. As such, some tags received little paint or overspray at best.  It seems like everyone restoring Mopar muscle cars completely paints the fender tag, when many cars - such as this example, received little or no paint at all on the tag. Combine that with this car spent much of its early life in non-climate controlled storage at the dealer and later in a beer distributor warehouse, and you have the true characteristics of a verified unrestored survivor. If you look closely at the tag, you can see some paint overspray on the left side of the tag still there.  Embrace this patina as something true and natural, that you don't see everyday on restored cars. :2thumbs:  :icon_smile_big:

And, since you brought it up, Silent-H, the lack of a corner bend in the fender tag supports that it wasn't likely painted in place.

Exactly! Lynch Road tags were hung on a piece of wire from the visor mounting hole and lucky to get overspray on them. Why it's rusted up...

If you see a bent up tag on a Lynch Road assembly line tag the restorer doesn't know what they're doing...

Yeah, I found out the tags were hanging on a wire on the wing cars when I asked that question in here about 5+ years ago. up to 5 years ago didn't know that. I remember 28 years ago when I worked at MSX right after they changed their name from Creative Industries. We would get Body in white cars from the Factory that we had to show car paint for the Detroit Autoshow. These cars all had the tag hanging on a wire that was on a bolt/stud in the firewall. Leon.
