I am fairly certain my friend Steve Battaglia from Buffalo, NY owned this car between the early 80's until the fall of 1995 when he sold it at Carlisle. After he sold the car, he was later informed that it was the last Superbird ever produce. If it is indeed the car, I had the wing signed by Richard Petty at an indoor TQ midget kart race during the winter of 1994 at the old Niagara Falls convention center, which is now the Seneca Niagara Casino in Niagara Falls, NY. I have a photo of the wing after it was signed and it certainly looks identical to the signature on this wing. Furthermore all of the specification of this car matched his identically.

I scanned a photo of the wing after I had it signed, however I cannot get it to post here.
If anyone can help me please let me know.

I believe I may have finally figured out how to upload photos.
Hopefully this works.

Ok so school me on this.
Does last on the Superbird list mean it was the last built?
And does that also mean the sequence number is the 'highest' or last of all the Superbirds?

cudavic

If anyone needs schooling it is going to be me. LOL
I am not quite sure how or who determined it to be the last one produced other than those in the video.
However I knew the car well back in the day and got the wing signed by Petty.
Attached are a couple more photos of the car from back then.

I did find the following information and article on this.

https://www.deadnutson.com/how-chrysler-built-cars/

There actually was little assembly required when the cars arrived in no particular order from Lynch Road. The first car to arrive was RM23?0A149789, on October 17, 1969. It was completed and shipped out the same day. The last car to arrive was RM23U0A172609, which arrived on December 17, 1969, and was completed the next day. (SuperBird VINs themselves range from 149597 to 181274).

I assume RM23U0A172609 was a typo and it should be RM23V0A172609 which indeed shows up on the Superbird list as number 1920.

Cudavic if Steve B had a petty blue superbird. I know who currently has it

cudavic

Steve had two Petty blue cars, the one with the white interior Barry owns. The second one sold last fall when I purchased the Fire Metallic Blue bird from his brother. Sincerely Vic
