I just turned 20,000 miles, car was restored in 2010. So not nearly enough.

Mine crossed 50,000 a few weeks back but the miles are not accurate.
From December 1969 to December 2015, it had the original speedometer. I switched to Dakota Digital gauges in 2015 but I set the odometer to the number the old odometer had on it. For awhile, I drove it with the odometer set wrong....for every mile driven, it was registering 1/10 of a mile so whatever miles were shown were actually 10 times that number.
With the original speedometer, there were times I drove with a melted cable too.

Man, I wish I drove mine that much. In the last 11 years, I racked up about 2600 miles  :shruggy: I didn't really feel like I was missing out as I took it pretty much every time I felt like it.

I just didn't go for any long rides, something I plan on doing when my next engine is done.

The long drives do wear on you a bit compared to the same time and distance in a newer car.
Still, nothing compares to the feeling of the car out on the road, classic rock playing, wind blowing through your hair...

I recently renewed my "classic" plates here in Colorado (they're good for 5-years). This time they've added a sentence where I have to certify that I won't be driving it for more than 4,500 miles per annum. My insurance had already limited my mileage to something like 3K miles and now this?  It's not like I'd ever exceed that these days but...really?

That's a "taking" in my book, a loss of freedom to use and enjoy it as I please and I resent it more than just a bit.

It's all about power and control anymore, I swear.

It's no wonder why people hate bureaucrats

Exactly, I built the car to drive, I have to put miles on it to justify to myself for owing it. I have friends that won't drive their cars because they don't want the wear and tear on the car. These are high dollar cars with 500 plus HP, just sitting there.

There is a meme about that....Keeping your classic car low on miles is like not having sex with your woman so she is fresh for the next guy.   :eek2:
