1969 Charger carpet measurement question

Hello,

I have a new AAC carpet I'm getting ready to install and am finding that the heel pad is not lining up where it should with the location of the gas pedal. The back of my heel pad to the edge of the back of the front piece of carpet is 15 1/2". If I mount the pedal in the right place it looks like there will be a gap between the two pieces of carpet. I've included a picture I pulled off the internet of what I THINK is an original carpet. Mine is for auto but I don't think that matters. Thanks in advance.
