Back, but for how long?

So 2026 seems to be picking up in that DC.com is actually still here. And apparently always was. For the past year I've been checking back periodically and would constantly receive timeouts thinking it left me for dead as soon as I blew my car apart in my neighbor's garage. Anyway, I've been poking around and found a few comments about other folks that were "locked out" as it were.

I got back in on another PC completely by accident and on this one the security certificate is being labeled as out of date forcing me to log in via http.

Is/was there some consensus on what happened or is for that matter?  Nice to see some familiar folks still here.

Welcome back!

I was too locked out, I just waited it out, took me months.

There was something about a site update that screwed things up. Several members that were frequent contributors got locked out, Birds And Bees is one of them. Wayne and I are members of ForBBodiesOnly. Over there, he said that each time he has tried to log IN, he gets error messages stating that he is ALREADY logged in.
I don't know how this forum keeps going. Moderators rarely contribute, I have not read ANYTHING from any of them except Charger Bodie. The rest may be great guys but they never come around. The site owner is an absentee landlord, ALL requests for help to correct the software glitch have been ignored. I appreciate that the forum is still here but site traffic is but a mere fraction of what it was just 5 years ago. The B body forum gains members every week and has good daily traffic. This site could too if some attention was given to it.

Ah, weird that it just corrected itself for me. I'm suspicious that something timed out (a 1 yr login maybe) and that's why I could get back in. It was just into 2025 when I got locked out. Wonder if Birds is stuck because he had a forever login setup?

Anyway, yes I remember the days of heavier site traffic. I've got an account over at FBBO but rarely go there. Who knows if my acct even still exists.  :shruggy:

Frankly, the non-secure/http access here is likely a major detractor for many. Not really what I'd like to see. On the up side, I've got access to info about the car again so hopefully I can get back to it.

Yup. Ron (firefighter3931) was a huge help to me when I built my 68. He speced out all the engine parts, guided me through the build, and helped me get it dialed in. That was in 2014. We kept in touch afterwards. Ron had some health issues (heart related) and was unable to work for an extended period of time. I tried getting in touch with him in August 2024, never heard back from him. I eventually contacted Troy and asked him if had any info. Troy said he hadn't heard from Ron for a while and would see what's going on, never heard back.

Good to see some Northeast members posting again! You guys ever make it down to MA for any shows? I live about 20 min from the NH border, I only know of a few cruise nights, one in North Reading (Kitty's) and one in Tewksbury in the Ocean State job lot parking lot.

Use to go to the show in downtown Amesbury in September. Didn't make it the last two years and just after the last show they announced that it was the last show. No explaintation or reason given. The only cruise nights I do are generally within 20 minutes of my house. I'm in Barrington, 40 minutes north of the people's republic of Mass.

LOL, we're getting lots of "memories" from our various digital photo storage systems these days... Time flies.

Well, my dad's house finally sold last week so that ends a slightly longer than a year exercise in moving him into assisted living. That of course started about 2 months after I blew the Charger apart to change the wiring loom.

Snowballs chance I get to that this spring.

Yea, we need to catch up. The funny part about all this... I want to buy a car that's not blown apart now.  :smilielol:

Have 2 kids that live in Cambridge but as the charger is in pieces it's not going anywhere soon..  Even when the charger was together it probably wasn't in kit to make it that far. Maybe make a show when I'm visiting the kids.  :shruggy:
