The repro battery trays for 73-74 Chargers aren't that easy to find and are a little more expensive than the earlier ones. I called year-one in hopes of buying the 73-74 tray w/ hardware kit and using the 20% disc. but they seem to be on backorder until Dec...I found one for about $45, but I'm wondering if anyone has tried using anything else? I'm aware that the shapes are different and the bolt holes as well but just curious to know if anyone has attempted a retrofit using a different tray.
Thanks.

totally different becsue the different inner fender and frame rails...

However I think you can use any tray up to 77-78 B bodies ( magnums, Monacos/Furys, Coronets etc... )

If your tray is still there but just has some holes in it you could just put a block of wood in the tray till you can get a new one. I took a 1/2 thin piece of wood and cut it to fit the tray. Dec. is a long ways off but that should hold you over till then.

I took the 71-72 style tray and made it fit, it has a triangular end on it and I just cut that part out, moved the tabs in and welded it together. I had to drill some different holes, but it fit great and you can't tell.
