I bought an L & P console a couple weeks ago and almost got it ready to go in the car today. In my opinion these consoles are one of the best deals out there for quality and price.

My car's interior is red so I had to deal with that but, otherwise they are a bolt in piece. Here are a few pictures of it.

Here she is all prettied up with MoPaint Rallye Red interior paint. I used red Krylon fusion paint for a base, let it dry, and then topcoated with Mopaint. I have had good luck with adhesion using the fusion on other parts.

That looks very very nice, I'd love to see some interior shots when it's done. Elvis would be jealous !  :icon_smile_big:
I'm also very glad to see a part that actually fits and is even an improvement on the original.

Ty, I'm so in love with your car!

I would like some nice & large interior shots so I could use them on the registry site if you dont mind

Thanks guys.

Chris,

I would be honored to send some pics your way for the '69 Registry. There is one other change being made for a more factory interior appearance so stay tuned.  :icon_smile_approve:

BTW: For others looking to buy the L & P console you will need all the hardware off your old console. I neglected to install the two hidden metal screw mount strips for the console door and latch until after I painted it red. It would have been much easier to install them beforehand. The console is now back in the car and fit perfectly.

Yeah, a guy from Stephens Performance was telling me how hard the '70 style is to find and then offered to trade me even up for a '69 style one last year at MMW.  ???  Truth is I am saving it for my brother in laws '70 resto. He plans on getting a woodgrain wheel so I will switch collars then.

Looks great!  hey, how can you tell 69 from 70 woodgrain steering wheels? I replaced mine with one of those styles 22years ago (so long I almost forgot it did't come with the car).  I have a 69 and would like to know if it belongs with the car or not.

Thanks
Over?! its not over until we say it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?!...Hell no! and its not over now!..(Germans? Pearl Harbor?...shut up, he's on a roll)

I am doing a red interior in my 69 Bee with four speed and console and would like to get in touch with 694spdRT (Chris) for advice on lessons learned working with that console. I am getting ready to start on the console and any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks
Rod

Let me know what questions you have about the console? It is a bolt in deal other than getting the color right.

I painted my console using Krylon Fusion as a primer as mentioned here and found the color appears identical to the Mopaint red. I still applied the Mopaint aerosol red.
