Attaching Picture Problem

I know there is one or two other people with this problem. When I try to attach a picture now it tells me:

An Error Has Occurred!
The attachments upload directory is not writable. Your attachment or avatar cannot be saved.

Wonder if I can make it do that when you post...

It should already be fixed.

I was getting that the other day when posting all those car pics.  I'd get that error, then the entire I.E. window would close down and I'd have to start again.  After awhile, it seemed to get a little better.
