After about 10 months of poochlessness (our dog of 12 years died last spring) we found this guy in need of a home. Looks like, and we've been told, he's a 4-year-old purebred Australian Shepherd. He's been bounced around so he comes with some baggage. Last fall he was found stray and taken to the Vancouver, WA Humane Society where the mother of a friend of ours adopted him. After about four months of misery the woman discovered she is severely allergic to the dog and gave him to her daughter. Their 12-year-old son was expected to care for the dog but they found out the dog is a bit hard-headed and likes to complain and growl. So we decided to give it a try and we've had him five days now.

Yes, he is a growler although I think 80% of it is actually moaning and groaning and complaining instead of actual growling. He is hard-headed and stubborn but I think he's going to work out. Last night I had a go-around with him about sleeping in his bed instead of the middle of the floor. I booted his butt out into the hallway a couple times and then gave him a couple of opportunities to obey and he finally figured it out. We're going to take him to the vet on Thursday and then see about getting him enrolled in a local obedience training course asap.

He's gorgeous, I hope it all works out. He's probably still a bit unsure of you and needs to figure out where he fits in but once a routine is established he will learn his place and no doubt be content. And obedience training never goes astray and this dog will love it. It will keep his mind occupied. He will more than likely enjoy some agility work too as they like to be kept active.  :2thumbs:

My lil baby girl is in the kitty hospital as of last night with some kidney issue....We're really hoping have some fluids and meds will get her back on her paws.

Its the first night she ever spent alone in 14 years. :bawling:

wingless now, but still around.

ODZKing

We'll say a prayer for her, and hope she does well.  That is how it started with my Maine Coon.

Oh she is not alone.
With all of the other dogs and cats I doubt she is getting a lick of rest.

Hope she is doing better soon.  Love the color of her coat.

Musicman

We'll be rooting for her at this end
