I put a center console in my car and I have the harness with it but where does the harness plug in too under the dash because right now with out the harness I can start the car in any gear because the neutral saftey switch

if you can start the car on any gear than starter relay is directly grounded or damaged NSS... nothnig to do with harness down the console.

asumming you have a 68, that harness only drives reverse lamps switch and shifter and courtesy lights

assukimg you have a 69... just courtesy light and shifter light. Back up lamp is switched on by the 3 prongs NSS

And if you have a 66 or 67, they are also like the 68.  The neutral safety switch is on the driver's side of the transmission just aft of the shift lever.  Two prong before 69 and as Natcho says, three prong from 69 up.
To answer your question, the console plugs into the harness from the driver's side of the console.  It runs across teh drivers side of the floorpan and up under the drivers door sill.  From there I believe it goes right to the fuse box.

as far I know, 1 prong on earliers that just drive the tranny ground sending signal to starter relay from tranny chassis itself, not 2 prongs...

And you are right again Natcho.  It's one prong.  (I told you that you are the electrical king)
