what would cause a distributor to be stuck in an engine ?The motor is a 413 and has been setting up for a long time,it doesn't seem to be rusty or anything it just will not come out.I haven't tore the motor down yet so i don't know the condition of the lower end.It wont turn over.

The rubber O ring might be it. First turn it, if you can get a wench on it on the bottom-where the clips are there might be 2 flat areas like for a 1 1/4 wench my factory small block does. Use channel locks and twist it back and forth, if you can get it to turn then while twisting it try to pull it out.

yup happens once in a while if you have a prybar as well just be sure you don't cause any damage. that o ring really does a good jobsealing. especially after a while of being in there!
