:2thumbs: but make sure your springs can take the high lift and I believe they say to use roller tip rocker arms.

MOPARHOUND!

Need more info, what is your combination?  Engine CID, converter stall, rear gears, tire diameter, etc. etc.

That cam is in the "fast rate of lift" group.  Gets the valve open quicker to allow more flow for a given duration meaning more power, but also puts more stress on the cam lobe and valve train.

*Speed costs money son, how fast do you want to go, and for how long?"
*"Build the biggest engine you can afford the first time."
*"We normally wouldn't use a 383 for this build, parts and labor for a 440 cost the same."

440 30 over ,2400 stall ,forged bottom end with 10 to 1  kb pistons. 906 heads ,323 gears maybe swap to 355's

andy74

im curious myself here, because your build is damn near identical to mine!

That cam would work fine with your current build. The 2400 stall is just about right allthough you'd probably like it better with 3.55's.

Andy, that cam is very similar to the large Summit Grind that is currently in your motor and would behave pretty much the same. The Lunati has a slightly more agressive lobe profile than the Summit grind.

Runner

the lunati is ground on a 110 lasa where as the  large summit cam is on a 114.    the voodoo cams are suposed to be agresive much like the comp xe cams?     i really debated  uasing the large summit cam, a lunati voodoo or a comp xe cam in my daughters 440.  in the end i chose a crower 271 cam.   it just seemed to fit what i wanted.  to be honest though, if i was to do it again i might of put a small comp solid lifter cam.

The guys at summit racing said this cam is very agressive and needs adjustable valve trane so I 'm back to square one.

The Crower HDP 271 grind that Runner is using is an excellent "off the shelf" street cam and would work very nicely with your intended build. You can use this cam with the factory rocker arms but will need to get the proper valvesprings. The Comp Cams # 911 springs would work fine with this cam profile. Summit racing carries the Crower line.
