I'm getting ready to do the front suspension on my 68 charger. Is it necessary to have the specialty tools to do the job.

Chryco Psycho

not nessisary , but to remove the control arm bushings you need a press or the tools to do it , or make your own tool

73 Charger 440

I know for 3rd gens at least you need a tool to remove the balljoints...

Shakey

If they weren't needed, they wouldn't make them.   :yesnod:

Chryco Psycho

upper ball joints thread into the control arm & yes you need the socket to remove or install them
