I'd like to update my 68 to electric headlite doors and loose the vacuum stuff.  Can I simply put on the reqd 70 stuff and it'll work or is there more to it than that?  Is the 70 stuff impossible to come by?  Are there other options?  Thanks in advance

I would think that is not going to be an easy task of just switching from vacuum pods to electric. They have 2 totally different systems. The 68 has a vacuum pod for each light that work independently. The 70 has one electric motor that has a rod that goes to both sides. If you are good at mods, you could probably make it work. It's definetly not a "bolt on and go" thing for a 68.  If they are not working, I think it would be easier to repair the 68 vacuum mechanism than trying to start over and make the 70 electric work.
