I was wondering if anybody has tried the repop dash pads?  Not the caps but the entire pad they are knocking off now.  I noticed it says they do not come with hardware.....do they mean the studs?  If so, how is it fastened?

If you're referring to the '69/'70, unless they have changed, they're pretty flimsy.. I have one at the house and it has no metal inner-structure.. The studs are all there... Guess they are referring to the fastener nuts.......

How do you keep it from becoming a snake on your dash then?

Evidently you can't stop that from happening...from what I've read in other threads anyway.  Sounds like it only takes a few months or some time out in the sun before the sags start setting in.  I guess that's why the originals are still bringing the big $$$.

69 Hemi, there are more responses regarding this on a recent thread with the following subject:

Topic: 68 Upper Dash Pad, Repop vs Original

It is under the "Interior" section of this site. Several guys had problems with the repops.

1969 GTX Track Pack car, Hemi 4-Speed, Dana Rear.  Pretty cool car as even though it is a GTX it has no options other than go-fast ones.  Manual brakes & Steering Red with a Silver Interior.  I will be creating a section of the website for it soon.

Just an opinion...

If you spend lots of money on Drivetrain like Hemis and 4speeds stuff, then just dashes rebuilt job or similars even some pricey ( around $500 plus shipping ), will worth and forgett about another dash pads problems for at least 20 years more.

Hey Jet..
You should be able to find a good used one and then dye it...... I'm assuming with the Silver interior, the pad's black...

Can't wait to see/follow the process.. You do such a good job with your web site.... If you EVER decide to purge the '69 Charger stuff, let me know.. I reference it frequently....

Hi Troy

No purge planned as I just re-upped the site for another 3-years. Amazing enough i get 10-20 e-mail a weeks off that site so it seems to be well received.  I am planning a revamp soon to complete the Charger and add the GTX so as they say......stay tuned.
