I won't be wronged, I wont be Insulted and I wont be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to others, and I require the same from them.

That car has all the aero parts too. I wonder if the Ford gang has the problem of getting resto parts also.

I'd stick some running gear in and drive it like that  :icon_smile_cool: :icon_smile_cool:

Ghoste

I don't think they do, but I'm not certain.  I think what they can't get is easier to reproduce possibly.

jonw29

They do make patch panels. We are not as fortunate as you guys that have full 1/4s for your stuff. The problem with a Talladega is that the 1/4s are so prone to rust.I would like to have a white one and a maroon one to go with my blue one.

Ghoste

The unique aero parts are fairly available aren't they?

jonw29

There are guys who have accumulated parts over the years. But as far as stuff showing up regularly. No

Ghoste

Ah, I see.  I had thought there was somebody repopping the aero parts for the Ford.

Highbanked Hauler

Jonw29, I have heard that the front bumper is a "made to fit" rear bumper of the Torino. Do you know what was done to mount it on the car?  Was it narrowed or different bracketts to fit it to the car?  ???       Al

What is the difference between this and a normal torino?

There is an extension added to the nose which gives it an abbreviated Daytona nose cone effect.  The front bumper is a modified rear bumper which is alos designed to improve airflow over the front and the rocker panels have been rerolled in order to allow the NASCAR version to sit lower to the ground.

jonw29

In addition to what Ghoste has said, the car received a staggered shock plta on the LR.It was reserved soley for Drag pack cars.It was a modification that was done on the assy line with a torch and a welder. The rear bumper was cut into 3 pieces rewelded and chromed.I will try to post a photo of my ft bumper in the next few days.

yeah i forgot about  the staggered shock plate , wasn't that available on the mustang also .

I thought the staggered shocks were on any Ford ordered with the optional Drag Pack.  Jon, does this mean that Drag Pack was standard on Fords Aero cars?

jonw29

All of the Talladegas got staggered shocks.I am not sure about the Cyclones. Its an odd thing. They got staggered shocks like super hi po cars, they also got a nodular rear center section, but did not get a positive traction rear. ??? ???

Ghoste

All of the Talladegas were also CJ cars, is that correct?  But on regular CJ cars the Drag Pack is an option?  Do I have all of that straight?

The NASCAR Mercurys, the Cyclone Spoiler II being all small block cars,  did not get staggered shocks, also only a FMX trans and 3.25 open rear end.

Ghoste

Dumbing down the Mercury is actually a lot stranger than making Drag Pack standard on the Ford aero cars.  Especially when it was supposed to be the upscale brand in the company pecking order.
