1968 Dodge Charger 225" + 3 spd

« on: April 01, 2007, 12:26:13 PM »

My grill was so bad that I have restored it out of 2 grills, one was silver and one was black.
So I need to respray it in the right color, but wich one Huh
Remeber my car is a sneaky slant 6 charger from 1968.
Any good picture would be appriciated.

Take care. Wink

I re-built mine from 3 different grills and tried to bring it back to what was correct. Looking at it now, and looking at what some of the others did with theirs.... I like the Argent Silver on the surround but think that the ones who painted the centers (verticle fins) all black looks badass!  I may be re-doing mine that way.

Arigmaster,

Are you talking about the "gills" on either side of the I beam that they painted black?  Or are you talking about the thin verticle pieces of the grille that was painted black?

I was talking about the leading edge on the verticles looking better in black. There are some close ups on the link Troy posted.  I like the Argent silver on the sections surrounding the grill and on the strip area that goes around the grill fins. but the fins and grill area look really good in all black rather than the verticles leading edge being the silver too. Even though it isn't correct in black, I just prefer it now since I looked at pics of both.

There's no gills or 'I' piece on a 68 - that's for the inferior later models... Wink

Oops, my bad.  I was thinking verticle lines and the gills automatically popped into my mind.  I forgot that the 68s and 70s have the large mouth bass sickness.   Tongue
