I picked up a trunk light and plunger with the pig tail at a swap meet today.  The guy told me the rest of the wiring for my 69 was alreay there.  The lights pig tail has about 6" length on it.  My car did not originally come with this option.  Is the wiring to plug into already there or do I need more then what I bought.  Been trying to find an ignition light too without any luck.

Thanks,

If the wire it has a male prong with its plastic plug, yes then is complete and you will find a female plug on rear harness wiring, somewhere in the trunk area. It should be close to driver side wheel well, under trunk matt. Only think you will need is an extension to arrive wire from pigtail up to trunk floor, inside the trunk lid frame.

All wiring on all cars were basically the same even without extra equipment options, but you were able to upgrade anytime, so parts/sources needed to make the upgrade are there with just buy, plug and play.

69'S trunk light went all the way up to the drivers kick panel- thats why the 6 foot cable

just repaired a buddy car for a problem and that where it started from!!!

Ah, so I need an extension to go from the harness to the pig tail with the male connector on it?  Is that an item I can buy or do I have to make my own?  If so, where do I get the connectors?

Thanks for the info so far.

ok... was 6 feet or inches wire ? I saw " and not '

if is 6 INCHES then you will need to make the extension wherever the source is LOL... terminals and plugs I think are available on cars parts dealers. but just in case charger specialties and year one have them. sure a lot of dealers in your area have them.

and sorry, I was thinking on 3rd gens what have the source/plug already on rear harness around the wheel well area and is spade conector kind, so not sure about other models. You only need a battery/constant source somewhere on your wiring. Normally they are pink colored on underdash harness ( as 71deputy mentioned ). Don't remmeber color on my rear harness, but is a fact is pink on underdash harness. Change color on rear haness since kick area plug.

this could help.... found by my buddy here in Venezuela Jhonnyacosta

correct Natcho- 2 gen dome light power wire went up the drivers side windshield post.

all mops used a pink as the hot power feed and yellow as the door pin switches. this was a wire that was molded together and has special plugs.

Thanks.  Ya, its the trunk light.  The pig tail is about 6" long so I will need some type of extension.  I will check what type of connector I need.  Thanks :)
