Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

At least not in March anyway...

Photomatix and Photoshop. Matix is used to combine the pictures and do the initial editing then shop is used for final lighting and stuff like that.

Can one of you guys do a photo of people with that freaky effect?  :shruggy:

mikepmcs

Yes. You can do it with one exposure but it's not exactly the same as multiple exposures.  Multiple exposure values layered together is what allow you to capture all the different tones and map them out to blow out certain colors to attain the desired result. If Finn gives me permission I will attempt to do it with that picture above so you can get an idea of before and after. I would immediately delete them from my computer after.
I rarely take pictures of people so I can't help you on the human front.

this is a very quick render.  i don't have the photoshop skills or the photoshop program to do this any justice.

It was a cleaner program that had cartoonize in it.  I just kind of stumbled on it screwing around this morning.
Photoshop probably has a similar feature  :P
I have PS 7,  I'm way behind the power curve.
