The temp sender screws into the waterpump housing, through the alt bracket hole.

The wire should be a push on type plug...the sending unit, although it appears to be threaded for a nut, is NOT.....dont ask me how I know.

that bracket is for non A/C cars... A/C cars sender unit is at a side of that bracket since bracket location is different.

Nothing on our cars Brian.....plug should be an inverted one though (female)

Must have missed that detail on the search for the "non stock item" :scratchchin:

Yes Brian thats the one.....you cant use my car for reference tough....I have a second electric sending unit in that hole for an aftermarket gauge.  I dont have any good pics of before I had this though

Charger-Bodie

the plug that goes there accepts a 3/8 drive socket extention, whats in the hole that the sending unit belongs in now? a plug? or is there no hole? because some allum housings dont have the hole there but on the other side of the housing like an early bb ie 65 ect.

Mine has a hole but there is a brass reducer adapter in there to get it down to the size that the temp sending unit sensor is.  It is a steel factory piece so I guess with any luck I can go to home depot or lowes and pick up the correct plug.

On some aluminum WP housings,  there's a place for the temp sender right about where that wire is laying in the pic above.

I've installed a new temp sending unit and still get no reading on my guage. While doing the install, I put teflon tape on the unit's threads. Could this cause a problem?

Nacho-RT74

I think yes... does need ground to send ground to gauge and you are isolating the ground ( negative ) input
