I think the white stripe would look classy on your car.

I didn't see a pic of your car but I would make the stripe the same color as your interior unless you have an interior other than Black or White then I would go white.   I think those stripes are very cool!!  :boogie: :boogie:

I like the tail stripes. I personally like black better but it's your car. Do what makes you happy.

BigBlockSam

i'm leaning toward the white stripes. i think they do look classy. this is a picture of my car before it went into the body shop. i'm keeping the wheels and raising the back up alittle. Rene

I'm with 6T9.  If it's black, go with red.  It just looks mean.    Bob

Really if you're gonna keep the car all black . . . everything goes with black.      Pick your favorite color and it'll look sweet.  Even a black stripe is cool but won't stand out as much as I think you're looking for.  Curious as to what you end up with?

if, i go with any stripe it will be white. the car came from the factory  with white seats but the black seat covers in the car are new so the interior is staying black for now.

ok I will have to agree with going with a red stripe! I didn't know that your '68 was all black. Although why not a blue stripe that is two or three shades brighter that black?

maybe custom color, like something that would shine in sunlight but would look black from distance. ghost stripes possibly or satin black, thats what id pick if I were going for stripes on black car

Charge It!

I vote for white stripe on the car, and black stipes on the street!

69pistolgripRT

White is the way to go, although red would look good.

Black is always my favorite except on a black car.

I got to agree with Chris with this one, nothing looks better than a black Charger with a red   tail stripe, IMO. Here's am example of why I think this  !

The Blue Beast

I say go nuts with it and do say a Plum Crazy custome stripe. The black one on my car was was painted on then the car was clear coated. the R/T was created on a computer and utilized as a stencil to allow the blue to show through.  with the wing on the rear the overall effect was exactly what I wanted.  :icon_smile_shock:

This would be the only 73 Charger R/T in existance. Any questions?

Drache

I seen one at a car show on a '69 R/T that was a ghost stripe on a dark blue car. One way you couldn't see the stripe, then another way you could. The R/T symbol on the stripe was done in a color changing paint so you could only see it in the sunlight. It was a neat effect.

;) that sure is funny! White or red would be cool. white is higher contrast, but red looks kinda mean...  i like the way some folks come back and post like every seven minutes... LOL!

Johnny SixPack

Brian's "69 looked super cool with the white stripe. :2thumbs:

I like the idea of a ghost stripe, but Sam's wanting a "stock" look, so that's kinda right out. ::)

Don't think that was a factory option.   ;)

Go with the white, and throw on a copy, of De Stijl.   ;D

I can't believe I'm the first person to point out that the stripe code is on the fender tag... lol

Look under the "S" on the "UBS" part, middle right hand side. That is the stripe code.

An 8 is stripe delete, and 4 is a red stripe, that's about all I know. Some R/Ts didn't have a code under the "S" so I'm not sure whether that meant no stripe, or standard stripe color?

I say (if you don't care about being original) on a black car, leave the stripe off and get the Bullitt effect. Or if you really want a stripe go red. Looks a million times better than white. Black/white color combo cars are just plain and lifeless looking to me.

You state that you have the fender tag. If it was a stripe delete car that would be on the tag.
