Sounds more like you need to replace the bushing, not the whole arm.

It's not a midlife crisis, it's my second adolescence.

that's what I'm thinking, that's the reason why I asked more specific

There is a lot of play around the arm itself not just the bushing have both sides out, and it seems to me that it is the sleeve where the bushing goes into is moving around to much around the arm..One side seems fine but a lot of play in the other.
Looks like the arm is rounded out a little to me..did not want to take a chance on it...

Dont know never done this kind of job before...always had some else do it for me...(Big Brother) Thanks for the help all...

i found out that a 73&74 are different ,they both will work on a 73 or a 74 but i had a 74 parts car and pulled and painted the lower control arm ,but my car is a 73 and i ordered a 73 rebuild kit ,on a 73 the lower ball joints screw in and on a 74 they are pressed iin.

hemihead

If I remember correctly the press in Ball Joints were for if the threads on the Control Arm got boogered up, you would buy the Press In type to service them.

Ok i thank all for your help i took them in to get ball joints pressed in an he said they are ok...Lets hope so..

Nacho-RT74

there are ball joints called PROBLEM SOLVER. They are oversized to fit on enlarged holes. Moog makes them.

there is another solution... good trick ;).

make a cut ( or two ) on ball joint ring underside the LCA, press the sides untill get the cut gap saved and aply a welding point... with that you will be get contract on the opening and ball joint will fit tight again.

Start with just one cut point. That should be really enough to get sized again the opening. The second cut is just if it is really necessary

Welding point MUST BE A GOOD ONE.
