Can You Say; NASCAR! - 1968 FAIRLANE 500 FASTBACK - $3300

These are the cars that won Ford most of the NASCAR races during the 1968-1969 racing season. Manufactured for only two years(`68-`69), these Ford Fastbacks (Fairlane/Torino) are rare and unique with their roofline & rear window specifically designed for aerodynamics so the vehicles could negotiate driving 200 MPH on the oval NASCAR race tracks!

This car is a piece of NASCAR racing history and is destined to go up in value just like previous NASCAR designed vehicles have, such as the: 1969 Dodge Charger 500, 1969 Ford Torino Talledega, 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona & 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner Superbird!

Don't you think they would have ALL appreciated at the same pace?

I guess that means my 67 is about to hit the value jackpot too then huh?

I've always liked those fast back Fords. A friend of mine used to have one back in the early 80's. I really liked that car. When he got rid of it I was so pissed-he traded it straight across for a Matador station wagon  :brickwall:  :shruggy:

When he pulled up to the house that day driving the wagon, revving it up with it's rotted out glass packs on it, My dad and I just happened to be working on something in the front yard, Dad looked at me and said: " Who's the Fu@& Head in the Nash ?"  :smilielol: :smilielol: :smilielol:

The matador is a better looking car !

When I was driving my Charger in the late 70's a supervisor had a 70 GT 351 cleveland, and just had it painted and wanted to trade it for my Charger. I said are you CRAZY!

My first car was similar to that one, a '69 Torino GT with a 428 Cobra Jet motor, C6XP tranny and highway gears.  It was fairly quick off the line, but it really shined on the highway.  I had that baby up to 145 once on Hwy 101 south of San Jose.

Agreed...thats not a bad looking car but if I had the choice between that and a Mopar, I would take the Mopar without even thinking about the Ford ;)

i'd take a talladega over a charger r/t.

that's a 'part of nascar history' like pintos are critical to the success of the NHRA.  looks like a half decent car, though.

OK I understand the guy has some hype in his ad.  BIG DEAL.    It looks like a pretty decent car to start with, and at $3300 it seems fairly priced.

moparstuart

mopar  or no car  here  brothers
GO SELL CRAZY SOMEWHERE ELSE WE ARE ALL STOCKED UP HERE

Ghoste

I think the hype is a big deal because people read that stuff and accept it as truth.  I'm not knocking the car but putting the fastback Fords in the same category as Talladegas or Daytonas is a stretch.  Not as bad as a HLPAG ad by any bit at all but still a stretch.

pettyfan43

Those cars are kinda neat, I had a 68 Cyclone GT for a while, neat car!

WOuldn't give up either of my Chargers for one, but cool cars anyway.

The70RT

Heres a couple I shot pics of over the weekend from Kansas Speedway.

I love the Cyclone.  I just sold my 68 Torino and after I buy a ratrod I'm gonna get a 69 torino fastback with a 390
