Love that white Daytona , it has the Magnums 15x7 , with 275-60 all the way around , same look I'm doing !!!

Larry

pettybird

he HAD it priced higher.

Ed sold it to marleau borsack in Huntington Beach CA, and he sold the car to californiamopars Dave.  Marleau was one of those "oh, I love these cars and I'll never sell them" types who had the car (and a yellow 440/auto 'bird) almost three whole years.

It is a very nice car...it was restored over a decade ago, and could really use a freshening to get the car to today's standards for that kind of money.

I always loved looking at Ed's car at Englishtown...  :drool5:

How could anyone not love the color?  For that much money though, it may as well be 315 million from where I stand.  I suppose the positive side to that would be that a car of that caliber and rarity maybe should be preserved more as museum piece now and a prices like that tend to ensure it.  I still can't help but feel envious of the "other half".  :'(

69_500

Where is Ed to chime in.

I think he used quite a few NOS parts when they did a restoration on that car. I've only seen the car in person 1 time, and  :drool5:  :drool5:  :drool5:  :drool5:. Very nice car. Love the color as well.

pettybird

The car on PCH in Huntington Beach:

The guy is also underselling just how much went into that car.  The whiteline tires were NOS 1000 miles ago and lots of very hard to find parts were scavenged for it.  It's also just as nice underneath as it is on top.

The color's awesome.  My friend's Q5 car will be nice one day, as well...Black wing, dog dishes, but essentially the same car.  'Course, his needs restored, but he's at around $17K in it...  I'd rather have 20 of those  ;)

69_500

Your buddies car will look good once he gets it done. Then again its not too shabby as it sits right now. It is a real wing car which is more than I have.  :D

I was thinking that there was a bucket load of NOS parts that were used to restore the Q5 car that Ed had. I don't remember the tires being NOS, but to be honest I didn't really look at it that closely the one time I saw it.

daytonalo

That color is awesome !!! Just think the Daytona looks best in orange or red ! :icon_smile_big:

I hate to even talk about that car! What a mistake. Every thing on that car was NOS including the tires(But that was 1994). I thought at the time it would be replaced with a Hemi Daytona, I just did not think the selling price on those car would jump 300% in six months. In 2002 when I first started to think that I really needed to up grade to a Hemi Daytona there where two for sale  for around 25k more then what I had been offered for the Q5 car not so bad right!. Long story short 440 car sold Hemi cars jump and only a select few can buy them. In the end after some good buying and selling I ended up with a very nice Hemi 500 4spd and a very fun Black A12 Runner but that Q5 car will always be missed! In this market I think one of those Hemi cars can be picked up for 315K though. Just my option?

Funny when you're at the bottom of the food chain looking up, everything looks great no matter what it is!
I'd be more than happy with a 440 powered Charger 500, which is my "dream car".
Actually owning a Hemi 500 is almost more than I can comprehend.

Aspiring to own a Hemi Daytona is akin to buying the Hope diamond. :o

holy crap!

I knew it got around from the display at the museum, but not like that...

69_500

That seems to be the same boat my dad was traveling down in the 80's when he was after a HEMI Daytona. Buy and sell a few cars here and there, and try to upgrade along the lines. Which eventually led to 5 Daytona's, 2 500's, and 2 Superbirds, but he never got the HEMI Daytona he wanted.

XXHEMI

The sad part of that ordeal is that I lost all intrest in owning one? Maybe some day the prices will come back to reality and  na I willl stick with the 500's easer to park

69_500

So are you keeping both 500's then? And I was hoping to see some more photo's of the R6 one now.

nascarxx29

That car not only had the best of the NOS items it was very corect in details .I had a limited suppy of the #1095Inner tail light bulbs. And Ed got some of those from me
