I hope he knew it was a clone before purchase.
Just needs a few little details done to really complete the job.
(edit)  And those details can be done while still using it as a weekend cruiser.

I do believe that the Third photo in the first link is also from carsinbarns.com I'm pretty sure its a during restoration photo of one of the Daytona's listed on that site. I'm trying to remember here, but I think its currently in the midwest somewhere, around Kansas?

moparstuart

and why would he picture it as green now  ? after showing it being restored in red ?

Maybe he is red/green color blind and thought it was the same color?  :slap:

I think we got a fakie! Just like to guy passing off Mr.Angry as his own. Basically, what I dont get is...the red Daytona in the resto shop w/fresh paint (bottom pic?) is apperentley the car during the resto but yet, after its done...its green???

And also, the picture of the rotter version...the picture is on Maple Leaf Mopars, carsinbarns AND my site! And I remember correctley, somebody payed 50k or something for it where he's saying he paid $140k for it in that state. I'll dig up some more info. :scope:.

Pardon my language but I think hes completley full of shit. :Twocents:

Then heres the rotter pic!

"1969 Dodge Daytona Charger.

Well here is a Daytona that has seen some better days for sure...this one was found a couple of years ago in Quebec and was sold to someone in Ohio.

Good luck with that project, hopefully another one will be brought back from near death to prowl the streets again!!! "

Check out this....these 3 posts were also in his guestbook. I have the feeling he also told people he got the shell for $40!

"Great work on the Daytona!!! Looks like you put a ton of work into it! And you only paid $40 for the shell? How long ago was that? Did you get it in Canada? I would love to see more pics of the resto!! Come by and check out our Charger some time when you get a chance...TTYL ;) Keep me posted, please!"

"Badass Daytona, u did a great job on it and what a find for $40. Check out my page, I do car art, contact me if your interested in a drawing of your car or just let me know what you think of my art."

"man I can't believe that you found that car for 40.00, why can't I ever find a good deal. Great looking car, the restoration looks great. Thanks for checking out my mustang."

Now check out my guestbook post for him. The whole world can see he is a fake :D

"Your full of shit. That isnt your car!!!! For anybody who would like to know here you go.

The picture of the green Daytona was taken from a member of dodgecharger.com.

The picture of the rotter version of the car was taken from here: http://mapleleafmopars.homestead.com/carsinbarns25.html and the "inprogress version" of it was taken from here: http://mapleleafmopars.homestead.com/carsinbarns23.html or here: http://mapleleafmopars.homestead.com/daytona.html.

Leading me to believe 100% that this guy is full of shit and he DOES NOT own the car. Just a question for everybody, has anybody ever wondered how come the car is green 'after the resto' but wearing fresh red paint during the resto?? Its simple, THEY ARE 2 DIFFERENT CARS...plus the rotter makes it..3. ALL 3 CARS ON HIS PAGE ARE COMPLETLEY DIFFERENT CARS. They are not the same car. Buddy, you are busted."

Troy

Hey Sherlock, you do know the car in the snow is owned by the guy who posted a bit before you right? ;)

By the way, don't flame people on the internet and then send them here. Like we need more troublemakers. Remember, you did the same thing so nobody is perfect and we all make mistakes.

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Doug I still wish that you had passed on that Daytona though. You sure you don't wanna part with it already? Its not that bad, I'd take it.  :nana:
