Turn signal switch woes

I've tried 2 different aftermarket switches and they each had their issues, so I did what I've seen recommended so many times and bought an old switch. It worked great for a while, but now I've lost the driver side brake lights. A wiggle from the turn signal lever sometimes makes it go on briefly. The brake light DOES work when the turn signal is set to the right. And if it's set to the left it blinks as it should.

Before I throw more money at this, can't these things be repaired? Better yet is there something more modern I can fit in there?
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Everything points out to a canceling cam replacement could do the job.

What tipically produces these fails are worn points into the canceling cam assembly. Sure the assembly consist into points on either sides of the assembly, but the canceling cam replacement with fresh points should resurrect it at least with that side serviced.

I'd like to say maybe adding some lead to the points on switch side could help even more, BUT lead will get worn fast anyway.

If it was posible to melt some brass on points like lead melts with a soldering gun, would be great... but that's not posible without melt the plastic first LOL

Maybe adding a brass cap/layer over the old points, soldering with lead of course.

( I'm just thinking out loud LOL)
