HERE ARE A FEW PICS OF MY HINGES AND INSTALL OF TRUNK CAP . IN A FEW SPOTS THEIR WERE BIG GAPS BETWEEN CAP AND DECK LID , I SIMPLY RELIEVE CUT DECK LID AND TWEAKED METAL TO FIT CAP, AND THEN WELDED UP RELIEF CUT . AT FIRST I WAS GOING TO INSTALL NUT PLATE IN DECKLID TO FASTEN HINGES , I RECONSIDERED AND SIMPLY WELDED NUTS TO U CHANNEL , ALTHOUGH I WOULD NOT STAND FOR SLOPPY VISIBLE WELDS , SO I PLUG WELDED CHANNEL TO DECK LID .

Here is a cheap tip , I have been using Cold galvanising spay  from Home Depot as weld-through primer for years . I simply use dental pick to scrape off primer in plug weld . I also plug welded cap

how do you adjust the trunk lid? did you cut channels into the hinge?  :shruggy:
I won't be wronged, I wont be Insulted and I wont be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to others, and I require the same from them.
