I have only had my Dart for about a Year now.  How can you tell what Tranny you have in the car?  Can you convert the Tranny from a slant 6 and make it fit to a 318?  If you can what needs to be done or bought to bolt it up to a 318?   Thank you in advance.

Hey nice looking car. To switch to a small block v8 you will need to get a different transmission if the car has a slant 6 the transmissions are different and won't hook up to a v8, you will also need to get an engine swap kit to go from the 6 to the V8 for the engine mounts. The transmission that is behind the slant six is a 904 trans. You can get a 904 or the stronger 727 to go behind the v8. The pic you posted looks like your car is a 1972 due to the grill and side marker lights. Here is a pic of a 70 Dart. I like your wheels, they look new. If they are new are they the 4" small bolt pattern? If so where did you get them? I have some old aluminum slots to go on my 65 Dart but they need alot of work to look good.
