so who are you and where are you from?  IL?  I've heard of another....if that's you it makes four.  if that's NOT you, notabird Brent knows of one near him.

my friend has a Q5 car here in the cleveland arear, sold new in niles, MI or south bend IN (can't remember what side of the border)

q5/black/black, 440 auto console

of course I don't remember the vin.  where's gene when you need him?

Aero426

There are at least four known Daytonas in that color.     I don't remember the interior of Steve's car.  But the new car surfacing is the only one (so far) with the tan interior.

With the addition of the one that was just mentioned in the other thread, that would make 5 Q5 Daytona's that I can think of.

381551 could tell you that one off the top of my head. I was just talking to Steve about the Q5 Daytona's at the swap meet here in Indy last month. We were talking about how many there were. I said I could name off 4 at that time, now this one would make a 5th. And it would also be the only one with tan interior.

Here is the ad for Richs 69 charger 500 wearing a daytona wing.Somewhere there is another 69 charger 500 with wing holes on the 1/4

Hi Tony,

Welcome to the site, and sorry I'm so late in chiming in with a note - been a crazy weekend.

You've got an awesome car there, and I appreciate your willingness to share the tag info.  Quite a rare car.  I'm with Danny on knowing of four other Q5 Daytonas, but none of the others I know of have the tan interior.  I've only seen one other Q5/Tan combo, and that was on a Charger R/T (not a Daytona) - I thought it was a neat color scheme, definitely not very common on anything much less an Aero car.

I completely understand your sentimental attachment to the car, and do hope you'll get the car back on the road.

That's right, pull the back seat out.    Most of the time, it will be under the seat bottom.     If you are lucky there will be one there.  If you are REALLY lucky, it will even be for your car.

Since the back seats were pulled out when the cars were converted from a regular Charger to a Daytona, the seats where stacked in a pile.   When needed, the worker would just grab a seat and put it back in the car.  If you have a common color like black, often you didn't get the original seat with the right build sheet.    With a less common tan interior, you might get lucky, assuming someone didn't remove it earlier.

69_500

That is also assuming that they left the sheet in the car after being done with it on the assembly line too. There could also be one taped on top of the cardboard liner in the glove box. Possibly under the carpet too, or under the trunk mat, or also possible to be in the headliner. Multiple places they could have left a sheet, if they even left one in the car. Definately would be a sharp looking car in Q5 with tan interior. Noticed the chrome shifter knob too, add that one to the list Gene.

odd side track here...

I'm the mopar guy at work.  the boss hands me broadcast sheets and fender tags to decode and build web descriptions around.  We got in a really pretty '70 GTX, b5/b5, white top and stripes, 4 speed, air grabber, the works.  I was decoding the bcast sheet and there were things that just didn't jive.  brakes, radio, top and more just weren't right.  now, these options were on the tag, so i was thinking fraud.  what was left of the sheet was pretty dirty, but there it was, a b5/b5 center console car.  I cleaned off part of the VIN and top line and found out it was for a 318/auto sport satellite that was build about 70 numbers off the VIN of our GTX!  the cars had to be built within an hour or two of each other...

anyone ever heard of chrysler swapping sheets like that?  i'm thinking that the seats in this car were destined for the other, and got switched at birth.

pettybird

so what's the wing/interior color of the hidden Q5 car?

steve here black/black
charles self/ed cook black/white stripe
ex florida car (don't know name) white/white
this new car tan/???

also, is it a 4 speed, or are all 5 console autos?

i dont know..how do i find out

Tony, look inside the trunk down where the side marker lights are.  When the original stripes were installed, they folded the excess stripe around to the inside of the marker lamp opening.  If you are lucky, there will be some small pieces of stripe tape left there on the inside.   If so, what color do you see?

Doug

69daytonaQ5

ok...so we're trying to figure out  what color the stripe was when the car was the original Q5 color.??..tomorrow after work..ill try to find the keys..and i searched under the rear seat and no luck..i don't really want to rip the carpet so any other ideas?..thanks guys

p.s. if i cant find the keys whats another way to get in the trunk... :shruggy: :icon_smile_big:

Possibly through the trunk to pop the lock from the inside.

Locksmith may be able to make a key.   Had that done for the ignition on my truck which was a salvage vehicle.

69daytonaQ5

like take out the seat ...but the keys are some where i remember opening the gas cap not long ago

Right.  It comes out easy.    But look for the keys first.   It's got a round head and if original it will be silver with a pentastar on it.

Very cool car Tony!

When I purchased mine from Charlie he told me about another Q5 Daytona original owner out in Wi. But that was all the info he would give me because he was hoping to get it one day himself ? From what I remember it was Blk int Blk wing 4spd. I would have to say tan interior has to be one of one? Good luck with it.
