so over the last month I finally started in on my scow.

rebuilt the carb...engine now runs pretty good.
new starter
fixed engine bay wiring
new alternator

all this is just temp I am going to do a full rebuild in September

traded my crapped out old manual column and steering box for a nicely rebuilt PS pump and gearbox...bought a new pitmann arm and a restored proper column...so now it has power steering, and man is it awesome.

adjusted the 4 speed linkage and the 'dreaded' leak turned out to just be from the nuetral switch plug thingy....so now it steers and shifts all nice...opened up the transaxle and it has 3.55 gears in a dana 60 and apart from being a little low on oil..all's well back there...new shocks....sent the leafsprings over to Oakland and had them rebuilt...had the dude give em an extra inch of ride hiegth if I ever want fatter meat on the back...stance looks good.

rewired the tail lights...they now work....

over the weekend the disc brakes go on, and then next week all the front suspension stuff goes to the powdercoater then gets re-installed...so..hopefully by end of month it will be rolling well around town.

been piling up trim and body parts so in August/September I plan on taking a month's vacation, pull the engine and do all the cosmetic type of stuff.

the 'fix up' has actually gone a lot smoother and cheaper...way cheaper...than i thought it would.

A transaxle is a combination transmission and axle, such as in a VW, Porsche, GT 40 and many other rear and mid engine cars.

Rear differential is only appropriate if you have a front one, too.

Rear end and diff are common expressions for a differential.

well anyways that big old heavy thing in the back the spins the wheels is in good shape.

the little project I have been obsessing over lately is hiding the battery, EI and regulaor up in my reserve tank. everything fits and mounts on the bike OK. I m going to paint this tank later today.
