There was a section of the parking lot blocked off, with a big "Kool Bus" sitting there. The guy was giving rides & donating ride fee money to some charity.
So a family with three kids climb aboard, the driver seats them in the back of the bus & they go for a spin around the area. I just happened to have my camera with me today. Cheesy

This thing didn't sound like a monster truck, but more like a standard old '75 Chebby truck with glasspacks & a little exhaust leak. lol  Still, it had plenty of power to get that thing moving pretty good.
As he started driving, he hit the button for a siren mounted underneath & away they went!

He whipped 'em around the parking lot for about three minutes, and I could hear the kids inside yelling WOO-HOO!! icon_smile_cool
His Kenworth tow rig had California tags on it, so I assume he's just blowin' through town.

Just total luck this time, I rarely ever have my camera with me. I was glad I did today, though. Smiley

I think the body is like a 53 GMC or somewhere around there.

I'm pretty sure that's a Chevy bowtie on it's hood badge, but I think it's maybe in the bodystyle after the '53 style. I know in their light trucks that in mid '55, they went from this...

...to this. I assume the heavy trucks did the same, though not positive. I know the heavy trucks used different grilles than the light trucks.

Never mind, now I'm sure. icon_smile_big This is a '55 6500 flatbed. The bus has a different hood badge, so I'm gonna assume that the bus is a '56.

Here we go, found a '56 HERE. I like the front ends on GM's heavy trucks of that era, they just look pissed off! Evil Grin

Speaking of pissed off trucks, I think GMC's heavy duty 57's are about the most pissed off truck ever made! It's probably a good thing they didn't make too many of these into school busses, or the kids may have nightmares of school. smilielol
