I am not sure if its just the pics but that nosecone really doesn't look like it fits too well. The auction states its all original sheetmetal but they don't specifically mention the nosecone? :scratchchin: Maybe they do but I got bored half way through...

hey man YOU write 6-7 of those damn descriptions every week!

it's all steel and it's all clean.  I love the car--everything just works so well.  I started it Monday for the hell of it.  I was there doing the writeups after hours...I started all three wing cars and the '68 Hemi GTX.  I'll call it inspiration...

we have it marked sold, but the buyer is notoriously hard to nail down.  we've sold him cars before.

Nice car but it has the wrong bumper jack and after market Ign , at least hide the box under dash

Ghoste

I very much agree with you Larry.  It's one thing on a rat Charger like mine or a modernized one but something like a Daytona being plugged as correct and investment grade, it should be perfect on those details as well.

The same car at a previous dealer .That once had a retro nose cone mold in surgery

The Happy Days Daytona was the black cherry car that Donna Schill owned in Milwaukee.   She bought it from Florida arounf 1979 and did the custom work.   She sold it in the mid 80's to Indiana.  From there it wound up at Happy Days.

1.  I run points.  I have no problem running points.  I run stock, original single points distributors with AutoZone points.  I change them once a year.  It takes me 10 minutes if I'm screwing around.

2.  It makes me cringe like someone's stabbed me in the eye when we get yet another car with that f'ing electronic ignition kit mounted proudly on the firewall.  of course, the previous owners just throw away all those troublesome things, so we not only have to sell a car with extra holes it's missing its original equipment.

It escapes me why so many people are either lazy or stupid with points.  or is it just herd mentality?  I threw a kit on my B5 car for a while (I screwed the box down to a washer fluid bottle hole) and noticed no difference on the street and no faster times at the track.  hell--i just stepped back to a $14 coil from the MSD unit and my mileage and drivability didn't change on the trip to St. Louis.  I gave the ECU setup to a friend of mine who is using it on his Daytona.  He wanted to try it, too, and it's still there because he doesn't feel motivated enough to take it off!

I didn't notice the jack...funny.  I didn't do much to the car to dress it up--we had more serious cases to deal with.  anyone have one for sale?

Nice car !!!!
Hope you get the money.. That'll make my '68 Hemi worth just as much......

Red with a white wing/stripe is always a good color combination....

As far as points go,,, I'm running the original dual-point in Dana and she's running better than ever in all rpm ranges and under all load situations......

Yes there are a few Daytona's with the C5X interior. There is one that shows up to the mopar nationals every year with that interior.

I run points in my car too. Figure that I haven't ever had any problems from them, and the car runs just fine. Got ribbed for still running points when I showed up to the Monster Mopar 2 years ago, but other than people making comments nothing has ever happened. Car ran fine over to Carlisle and back as well. Heck it has ran fine for its 80K mile life so far as far as I know.

A nice LCD for the garage Troy? That would be nice. I can't even keep a tv in the garage, every time I get one set up out there my wife gives it away to a relative saying that we aren't using it anymore.

Tell her it doesn't work and it's wall-art....... I'm sure she's not out there all the time if at all....  :icon_smile_big:

I was going to buy one, but someone has donated one for the club's display at AutoRama. And since I'm the one storing everything in my garage, guess I'll put it to some use.  :icon_smile_big:  Of course I have club permission.......

the only thing that sucks about points is the bruising from my knuckles dragging the ground.  if only i'd evolve and walk upright, too.

69_500

Actually she is out in the garage quite a bit, but not everyday. We have a weight set, and some stationary bikes, and treadmill out there. She goes out there to walk, and ride the bike when its too cold to go for a walk through the neighborhood.

I told her though that if I ever get a Daytona the weights and treadmill are hitting the curb. Would need the parking space.
