my buddy tom in alaska builds superbird hoods , He sent me pictures how he does it !!

I have been looking at some pics on there of how to make a flat s-bird hood.

I am an internet dummy or I would post these pics of how i made a factory hood.    so i am sending to you pics in seperate e-mails.  this way with a janak piece is very easy.  using  body panel glue  . it is stronger than hell.  and the janak piece has all the factory looking  tack welds and such.    in the end it is less work and more authentic looking.

:popcrn:all I did was glue a piece of aluminum L channel onto the hood to make the mating edge

:popcrn:     heres how it looks before gluing in the piece.  everything has been prefit. I coated the inside with hammerite.  all edges are prepped for glue.   you run youre bonding glue around edges and slide the piece into place

That is too cool! I always wondered how you would go about that. What do you do with the cut off front edge seam since it is just glued to the aluminum angle (how did you finish the edge)?

They make them too.  Saw one on another car and seemed ok.  Thanks for the pics  :2thumbs:.  I was thinking that I was going to have to separate the hood into two parts and reweld it back.  This is another option.
