I thought it might have been this one but it has a white 500 stripe.
This is from Moparfest 2003.
The owner got this back in trade for a Canadian red on red Daytona :o
Anyone know where it is now?

Sorry I don't have the fender tag or VIN from this one.

The Nickey that is around now is not the same as the orignal dealership.   The dealership went out of biz in the late 70's.

I had that car in the registry from an ebay ad back on 6/27/07 in Greenbay, WI  I believe the tag is a repro as well...

Interesting to see XX on the tag while the 210735 Hemi car has XS :scratchchin:
I wonder if they ever put a spare tire on the rim? ;)

The "GTS"  inspection was included in the auction as well

XX29J9B210731 has been up for sale by at least 4 different owners in the last 5 years. First time I called about it being for sale was 5 years ago, and at that time it was in Canada. Asking price was $45K Canadian at the time, which worked out to about $34K US at the time. The car had a 67 HEMI in it then, and I was told the tag was a reproduction by the then seller.
Fast forward a year, and the car was now for sale by a place in Washington. Asking price was $70K US. Fast forward another year and it was still for sale by the people in Washington, but this time was up for auction in AZ. Asking price then was $125K.
Then earlier this year the car was for sale at the BJ auction this spring. I think it sold for $114K?, can't remember exactly.
Car then went to the Chicago area I believe, and they have been trying to sell the car ever since then. Car was listed as being for sale on the yenko website about a week after BJ ended.

I think it is the same car that BEEPBEEP posted pics of too. As it was repainted when it was in washington. First picture I have of the feder tag, it is bare metal, and the car has a white stripe. Next set of pics I have for the car, it is wearing a black stripe, and the fender tag is painted body color.

I just saw that same Hemi 500 listed through a dealer in Canada about a week or so ago and in the first conversation with the salesman, he said it was an original car and such. I asked for some info. on it and was thinking it was this same car. Once I receieved the pics and docs I new right away this was in fact that same car. As mentioned it has a 67 Hemi and a non-numbers trans. I even think that somewhere along the line the Dana was removed and later another Dana was installed by a different owner. I have considered buying it a few times but was never 100% sure about it. 69_500 is right, it has been up for sale at least 4-times in the last few years and sold at B-Jackson earlier this year. I was told by one of the previous owners from awhile back that when he had the car he had the original fender tag, then somehow lost it in transit. He did say that at some time he had done a pencil marking of it and was able to give that to Galen to make a new tag. I guess as long as it is a real Hemi C500 then it is still a very sweet ride, right? :Twocents:

Ghoste

So how much is this Nickey place trying to get for it anyway?

69_500

As far as this one being an XX on the fender tag, and the other car 210735 being XS, there is a reason for that too. Seems that B14 (november 14th) is the split date for fender tags on 500's. Before that date all of them have XS, after this date all of them have XX (with 3 exceptions). But on Novemer 14th, they are split pretty even one way and then the other.

nascarxx29

Seems the car has been handed alot off from dealer to dealer .Must have issues?

I was looking at this car before I purchased my C500 (210742)  The car definately had a 67 motor in it and it had terrible paint (lots of dirt etc..)  Slight rust in the typical places but noting bad at all.  This was when it was in Wash. state.  It was then at Russo-Steele auction and the battery was dead and they could never run it across the block.  It was sold privately at the auction.  It then was sold to Pat Goff in Minnesota.  Pat is a well known hemi collector.  He decided to liquidate some cars and thats when it went to the dealer in Wisc.
The Nickey deal is an individual who bought the Nickey name and rights and is now marketing his car business as Nickey.  He specializes in Chevy muscle cars but will broker just about anything.  Not passing judgment, just helping flesh out the story on the car.

That's the guy who bought it FROM the Lear brothers.  I have tried to track him down several times and always run into a dead end.  He is the only owner that I don't know and I've always wondered if he is the guy who lost the build sheet or if the car just never had one.

Aero426

210731 was owned by Bill Siebenthal in Ohio.   I saw the car at the Nats, about 86-87 and it was for sale then.  At the time, I thought it was a bit rusty.   At least that's what I remember.

Yes.  Nicky doesn't have it anymore.  That was at least a year and a half ago.  They originally wanted $150K for it, then I had my brother-in-law go over to look at it for me (he works about 20 min for Nickey), he sent me a bunch of pictures, and it was not as nice as it appeared in the other photos.  Lots of undercoating, had it in the trunk too.  The carbs looked tired, and did the underside of the motor/front end.  Interior was decent, but by no means $150K good.  He eventually sold it to another dealer for under $100K (they originally got it at auction for about $90K I think it was).  Then it went to BJ last Jan, and sold for $110K (they had done some cleanup on it, repainting the trunk, and fixing a few other issues).  Not sure where it is now, though.  It had been on eBay at some time this past year, I think.  Or maybe that was the year before.  Can't keep track anymore.

This one is a tan interior Hemi out of New York, raced in the F.A.S.T. class at the Mopar Nationals this year.

69_500

The last car pictured is Ed Cooks car. He post on sometimes, and he also has a very very nice R6 red HEMI 500 as well.

Ghoste

69_500

Are you talking about Ed's R6 red Runner? Does he have a nice X9 one as well?

Ghoste

To tell the truth, I thought these three were his.  No?

69_500

Could be, but I know he has 2 500's, and unless he got rid of it he had an R6 red, and X9 A12 cars as well at Englishtown a few years back. Could have gotten rid of the X9 car for the green one though. Who knows.

Ghoste

I know he had a red 500 but I've never seen the car except in pictures.  Thinking harder, it seems to me the green A12 belongs to his son?  So perhaps its still as you recall Danny, Bronze 500, Red 500, Black A12, and Red A12?

69_500

The first time I saw his R6 HEMI 500 was at Carlisle this year. Gorgeous car, would love to see both of his 500's in one picture together. Heck i"d like to see about 20 500's in the same picture.

Ghoste

What a poster that would make huh?

watt340

Ed owns and drives the X9 A12 Road Runner and owns the R6 A12 Road Runner but his son James races it.
The 97 green A12 is owned and raced by his buddy Scott M.

It would be a nice poster. Now if we can manage to get about 15-20 500's down at Talladega next year, I'd be more than happy to shoot a panoramic shot of all of them together and make a poster out of it. Could probably go as large as a 24"x48" poster no problem.

XXHEMI

Danny

For some reason the 500's never seem to be in the same place at the same time. I will bring them both to Talladaga maybe we can get some pictures there!

Ed

69_500

If they are both there at Talladega I'll make darn sure to get over there for some photo's. You know how many pictures I shot of your R6 car at Carlisle. I'm thinking I need to invest in more memory cards before Talladega.
