I'm not sure? :icon_smile_question: Its been a while since I paid any attention to them. I could check I guess. They are fairly wide though.

My car had those same rims when I first got it...hated them. They would have been much better if chrome wasn't complete crap. :P I think someone used the "redneck chrome polish" on them at one time...steel wool. :rotz:
You can sorta see them here.

Sorry for adding to the thread hijack.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Don't be hatin on the Slot Mags! :2guns: :fu:
I like having a wide (15x10) Slot in the back but a wide front tire? :eek2:
I also like the old Torque Thrust D's, but only on red '66-'67 B-Bodies and red '65 C-Bodies.
(Yeah, I have it all figured out. :icon_smile_big:)

Here are some pic's of the Charger 500 I owned years ago.  I traded a 1970 Challenger RT convertible for it.  The Challenger was loaded with just about everything except the bigger engine, it had the 383 Magnum.  The 500 was owned by a guy in Colorado.  We agreed on the deal and met half way in St. George Utah to swap cars.  The 500 had been slid sideways into a street sign so the passenger front fender, inner fender and bumper were all bent.  The windshield was broken and the power booster didn't work.
The first pic is when I got it home.  It was a Hemi car but had a 440 in it.  I then traded a 1970 Challenger TA for a 440 Daytona that had a Hemi in it.  I switched the engines to make the cars right and sold the Daytona.  The 500 hung around for years but unfortunately was never finished.  The Daytona was a 4 speed - 8 3/4 and the 500 was an automatic-dana car.

hctub

Couple more of the 500

Charger_Fan

I'm guessing those last shots are of when you sold it? Looks like it had a few spiders living in it by then. ;D

hctub

No I actually had it several more years before selling it.  I had a whole backyard full of mopars and just never got to the 500. Kick myself now of course.

I heard that it is restored now.  Years ago I got a call from a guy that had researched the previous owners of the car and came up with my name.  He was looking at it to buy and the owner was telling him it was a numbers matching, low mileage car.  I think the asking price was around $58,000 then but that was probably 6 to 8 years ago, I really can't remember for sure.  Of course if he had bought it for that amount he would be pleased now.  He said it was a real nice restoration.

69_500

Can't think of that many HEMI 500' changing hands lately in the last 6-8 years anyways that were in need of a restoration and then being completed. Other than Carls car but I don't think that is the same one.

Did the car have a white tail stripe? Appears to be some white in the marker light hole in one photo.

maxwellwedge

I bought that car (Carl's) off Fred McNally - Fred had it since the 70's.

hctub

It may have been more like 10 years ago, I really don't remember.  I am still pretty sure it was one serial number away from the old Propane X car.  The car didn't have a tail stripe when I had it so I can't answer the question of color.

I JUST FOUND AN OLD REGISTRATION FOR THE HEMI 500!!!!!!

I don't know who keeps the records for these cars now but please forward it on and have him contact me.  The registration I have is from 1979.

Danny (69_500) is the guy on C500's.

Chris (NOT Just 6T9 CHGR) also operates the 1969 Charger Registry and would appreciate any info you could share on the car as well.

I don't think it's the same car - Fred had it since the 70's until I bought it from him - along with the white 4-speed 'Tona (which is in Quebec with a red gut and a Hemi). The 6-BBL bird was painted black but was originally orange IIRC. Good memory you have there though.

No my old car was a later serial number.

Dave, That looks like a Dave Jones plate and 500. He had the 4 vanity plates on his collection in the 70's & 80's. "DODGE" "HEMI" "CHARGER" "DAYTONA" Kinda sucked as I tried to get 3 of these and had to settle for HEMI68 back in the day...............

Yeah the green HEMI 500 next to the Black Daytona is Dave Jones old car 100% positive on that one.

HCTUB I'll be giving you a call probably this evening about the car if ya don't mind.

hctub

That will be fine.  I don't get good cell reception at home so if I don't answer leave a message and I will call back.

hctub

Thought you might find this interesting.

This car was for sale up in the Idaho or Montana years and years ago.  I wanted a 500 and don't remember how I got this guys number but he sent me the pic.  The car was too much money at the time and too far for me to go get it.

I know you eagle eyes out there will notice the SE emblems.
