There used to be a drag car in my hometown with a narrowed version of the Mopar Pro Stock style scoop.   That was on a 69 RT.
Of course if you had a 1st gen you could look at the WO style Super Stock scoop or on the 3rd gen the cool Air Grabber setup.

I found a link that shows a cuda style hood for a 68 - 69 I would not mind looking into this as it would match my Dakota cuda hood.

I love that showcars hood, but you would have better luck finding an honest lawyer than finding someone who actually bought that hood and had any feedback on it whatsoever.

are they making that hood??

I ordered a bulge hood with airgrabber for my 73. That was back in July, 6-8 weeks to make it(do the math). Monday the 7th of Nov it's going to ship, in theory. Spotty call backs, got a ton of different statuses on the progress of the hood. Seemed to depend on whom I spoke to that day. So a month and a half after I should have gotten it it'll ship. I'll post pics in the body section when I finally get the thing. Total cost was 710 for hood and 154 to ship to Ca.

Monty76,

I cant wait to hear what you have to say about the air grabber hood. I have been look for a good aftermarket air grabber!

I kind of like the way that Cuda hood looks on that 69.  The hood scallops are one of my favorite features of the car but that doesn't look bad on there at all.

hydroforce

I remember seeing that pic along time ago also.......
I do like that hood, but again like someone else said.....where can I get one?

it me who can take that kind of hood in my 69

Charger_Fan

I'm really partial to this one...but it's not made by any company. It's a steel hood made buy a friend of Troy's (hemi68), who did a fantastic job! :2thumbs:

This thing would have been great if it were optional from the factory, IMO.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

You know, it has always puzzled me why they didn't offer some kind of fresh air hood on their flagship car in 68-70.

hydroforce

thats nice, I like it

I'd like to see more of the '70 Challenger bulge hood on 70 Chargers.

I heard that it was because the designers felt it interrupted the body lines. It probably also had to do with the fact that Chargers were advertised as more of 'a gentleman's musclecar' than say a Road Runner.

I have always liked the look of the 70 Road Runner and GTX air grabber hood and from looking at them it looks like it might bolt up and possible fit the lines of the 68 and 69 Charger has anybody done this?

Ghoste

I've seen it somewhere.   I can't recall if it was in a magazine or at a show though.   It looked pretty slick to me.

golden73

IMO cowl hoods don't look good on chargers. I do like the charger with the chally hood scoop though.

Hey guys.  Here is a link to the company that makes all kinds of steel and fiberglass charger stuff.  I have not ordered anything from them yet, but they make the 'cuda style hood that was pictured in this post.  Have a happy Gobble-Gobble day!
