what was the story why did he park it so early on ?

It was the guys college car in his last year of college - 1969. He bought it new and drove it just over a year and put 13,000 miles on it. He graduated and quickly got a job where he had to travel alot. He parked the car at his mothers house. He met a girl, got married and the car was kind of forgotten. All the Barrett-Jackson stuff on TV prompted the guy to put the car up for sale.

JIm,, great article and love the close-ups........ nice to see I'm going in the right direction with my '68 based on these additional pictures. Looks like I'll have to make the paint code markings on the torsion bar adjustment lever a little more sloppy..  :icon_smile_big:

Cool GTX find there Jim .A Guy in NJ Bill Wiseman in NJ had got a orange 71 Hemi runner with the orange seat inserts .Guy had thrown a rod in the hemi back in late 71 or 72 and retrieved it and restored it .There was same story with a 71 Hemi Cuda hardtop sat near where I worked guys dad bought it new.Motor had a issue car a few years later. It had 19K or some more miles on it .And Walt Downer NJ ebody collector later picked up that Hemi Cuda.

Lot's of cool stories Dave. The kid had the brains to get the stick, 4.10 etc. back then. He actually ordered a big block Camaro and the dealer lost it. So he went to the Plymouth dealer in Toronto (still here) and said if you can deliver this car in 4 weeks I'll buy it!
