Saw this on a Buick site he refers to selling a XX29J 500 or a daytona ? That went to Sweden around 1989.

what to choose?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Having previously owner an XX29J9B...... I still like them, but they are too expensive for me. In 1989 my wing car went to Sweden for $125K. I thought that was too much even then. It had gotten to the point where I could not drive it. I think it's called paranoia or something. I sold all of my uni-body cars in the 90's, for a lot of money, and I don't miss the constant maintenance, or the anxiety with each scratch. I am now looking for a car I know nothing abuot because learning and fixing them is a lot more fun than sitting with the Ferrari club talking about the stock market. I LOVE AMERICAN CARS! I want to recapture the fun of restoring one again. And I think that .... I'd really rather have a Buick! That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

He seems to reference a wing car so this shouldn't take too long to narrow this down as there is only 36 or 37 j-code daytonas on the shipping list and from reading the info on this site it seems that the majority have been accounted for.

He posted the account of this car in 2007 .Im going to see if I can pm for more info and see what happens. But probably have to sign up first .It may be a unknown car who knows

Found a old magazine I have. You can see the aero car in the upper corner. The green charger is mine competing against a hot rod. I won.  :coolgleamA:

From what I have heard, the car was brought to Europe (Germany) around 1970 by a US military person. In Germany it supposedly spent time on the drag racing circuit.

When it was recovered to Sweden we really don´t know yet, but it´s about 7-10 years since it was restored. The restoration was top quality and when cleaned from the dust from being in storage it´s extremely nice.

Are the tires supposed to be redline tirs?
