LUMI

motorplate would have be better/easier but maybe in the future...

those schumacher hemi motormounts seems to be quite stiff and i allready bought those :flame:

i cant understand why wedge block has hemi mounts :rotz:

LUMI

more broblems  :flame:

flexplate and converter wont bolt in together there will be 1/6" space between them

is it OK to weld shims to the converter

i see no other option

converter is TCI´s PRO-X 727 143012 9" W150+

maxwellwedge

Hard to tell but it looks like the flex plate is backwards. The crank bolts look like they are causing the gap.     :scratchchin:

well on the flexplate there was a engine side marked so i put it on that  :2thumbs:

crank is Callies 8 bolt with arp bolts

maxwellwedge

It still doesn't look right......Are those crank bolts resting against the convertor?

LUMI

yes they are
and you cant turn the flexplate without enlarging few holes so it´s not an option :flame:

LUMI

ill try to find if there is an bolt on flexplate to this setup

now i have SFI A736421 plate

or i weld those shims to converter :nana:

gtx6970

flex plate is in right.

I dare say you need a different convertor.

Torque convertor can not rest on flexplate to crank bolts . There has to be room for the torque to expand to a certain degree

me persoanlly would not weld anthing to the convertor lugs - you going to have to have an area that is not threaded , leaving very little of the bolt threaded into the convertor - thus causing a  weak link in the powertrain

LUMI

but it is a convertor for tf727 ??

i checket it to my old engine which has 6 bolt crank it even wont bolt on that, both have same style flexplates :RantExplode:

if the flexplate would be straight it would fit, is there that kind of flexplates available?

well i sended email to TCI lets see it they reply :o

LUMI

now with a new converter
and still so far from running :brickwall:
CSR supershield wont fit with original trasnsmount so i have to modify it or hammer the trans tunnel :2thumbs:
well maybe next week

Good luck with the rest of your build. Your car looks great and should be a street monster.

FJMG

Wow what a great car, I'm sure you'll get everything straightened out. Did Koffel's actually ship you an engine with oil lines directly in front of the Hemi mount boss? I cannot believe that anyone would send out a motor that cannot utilize the mounting area on the engine block without some letting the prospective buyer know!

Looking forward to your next update!

no this engine was bought used from Holland, it has had 4 low test runs and 8 full passes on a strip, the privious owner wanted to go to the 7´s, on this engine he got mid/high 8´s with tube chassis belvedere

Looks awesome.

Is that air cleaner top also filtered? If not im willing to guess your going to choke her out at higher RPM's, its a bit small for such a big motor (unless top is filitered as well)

these are the things i see that are different :Twocents: :Twocents:

Don't forget the tires, not like big plumpies like that are cheap to replace.

Not likely someone who stole such a high profile car (with a prominent magazine spread several years back) would go to all the trouble of replacing the axle, exhaust, tires, coilovers, etc and try to sell it without at least a crappy repaint.

but got custom build 1150 AED Max Pro Dominator last week and it runs smooth with it :coolgleamA:
