The seller mentions not knowing much on this cars ownership background. This car and color combo matches my memory of this car.I knew of when it was owned by PHIL M of MI

Dave, I think this is Phil's old car after hearing the rest of the story from the eBay seller.  I don't think the car will sell on eBay for that kind of money though - that'll have to come at a major auction IMHO.  Sounds like a nice car overall though.

I like that car. The price seems reasonable for a Daytona even though it's not matching numbers.

Which cars had the dual inlet air cleaners? Mine has the dual style and was told when I bought the car that it was original to the car.

I like the black dash bezels better than my woodgrain ones, but since my car is an SE, I guess I'll leave it alone.

California cars had the dual snorkal air cleaners, think it was to do with reducing induction roar thus making them quieter.

He's been trying to sell that car for a few years now. A friend offered him 175k a few years ago and he said no.

I believe this car was scheduled to be at the LEAKE car auction in Tulsa, June 12-14th.  Maybe it did not hit the reserve and the owner brought it home.  I also think this car was (and still could be) owned by a Scott(can't remember his last name) who deals in a lot of mopars out of Oklahoma.
On a side note, did anyone else see Colin's F6 4 speed Daytona sell at the Mechum auction last month.  I watched the car sell on t.v. for $150,000 which seemed awfully cheap for a numbers matching F6 440 4 speed car.  Any comments?

The F6 green Daytona sold at Mecum is a good car, but it is being torn down and restored as we speak.     It had nice documentation, but it was an old early 80's paint job.   As sold, you should not mistake it for a modern restoration, or what a car like that would bring.    I thought it did pretty well all things considered.   Buyer paid $159k with commission.

Just a reminder that my numbers matching 4-speed Daytona is still available at $129k or near offer.

I could understand if it were a bird, but the Daytonas have consistently brought much more than the birds. What should a non numbers, nice looking rare color combo daytona bring? I've seen resto projects bring 80 to 90.
